Two of the most reliable socio-civic entities attended to leukemia victim Francis Magalona- the Philippine National Red Cross and the Blood Bank.

At the launch of the first “Sine Klasiks” at Robinsons Movieworld in Ortigas, actress Rosal Rosal happily announced that the PNRC and the BB were essentially committed in helping Francis recover from his illness. Rosal has been a volunteer of the PNRC and the BB for 58 years.

“I told Senator Dick Gordon that we help Francis. Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘walo ang anak n’yan. Tulungan natin.’ Mahal ang dugo so I asked Dick to pay for the blood donation,” Rosal said to the applause of the audience.

“Kasama ko sina Tita Duran at Pancho Magalona sa LVN Pictures and they were my friends. Parang mga anak ko na rin ang mga anak nila like Francis,” added the actress.

Pouches of blood were given to Francis at Medical City where he was first diagnosed and confined during the initial findings of his ailment until he was moved later to the St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Rosal's involvement with the Red Cross has been a source of satisfaction to her.

“Ito ang maipagmamalaki ko. At maligaya ako sa pagtulong sa ating kapwa,” she said.

She said she will not get tired of helping Magalona and other people in need.
