Kitkat turns 24, receives diamond earrings from Claudine
Comedienne-actress Kitkat marked her 24th birthday with her closest friends on September 23rd, Tuesday night at Punchline Bar in Quezon City.
In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Kitkat shared her happiness at celebrating with some of the biggest stars in local showbiz. In her guestbook almost 200 people attended her special night.
"I'm really happy because Tita Susan Roces was there. She was accompanied by Ms. Sheryl Cruz. Claudine Barretto was also there and even sang with me on stage. We performed the song "Because You Loved Me" and of course my best friend Melissa Ricks was present," Kitkat said.
"I'm overwhelmed as if I'm going to throw up because of happiness...It's like I'm celebrating my 18th year-birthday -- a debut party," she added.
Kitkat also said that Barretto gave her diamond earrings that she promptly wore at her party.
"When she arrived she opened her gift for me, helped me to wear it -- it's diamond earrings with amethyst and sapphire," she said.
Kitkat said that she won't forget her special night, particularly when she received a standing ovation from her guests when she sang the theme song of her series and ABS-CBN's hit show "Iisa Pa Lamang."
"They all stood up while I was singing 'Iisa Pa Lamang' and then I had this AVP as if I'm performing in a real concert," she said.
Also spotted at the party were Kitkat's friends -- Fred Payawan, Eda Nolan, Ron Morales, Matt Evans, Baron Geisler, Mariel Rodriguez and Angelica Panganiban.
Kitkat had wishes for herself and her family.
"I'm not asking for too much popularity, I just wish that I will always get showbiz projects... I just wish for my grandmother, Lola Puring's long life and good health because I really love her," she said.
Kitkat also clarified reports that her success and closeness to big stars like Barretto and Roces are now getting to her head.
The actress said that if people would just take time to know her better they will find out that she's really a nice and responsible person.
Kitkat or Soraya Ray Lopez Banas in real life was UNO's centerfold model for the months of January and February.
Aside from "Iisa Pa Lamang", Kitkat is also busy with out of town gigs. She is shooting a movie with comedy actor Vhong Navarro and actress-host Toni Gonzaga.
She's also one of the jurors for DZMM's comedy show "LOL (Laugh Out Loud)," a talent search for the best stand-up comedian.
