Benjie Paras to talk about ex-wife on 'TNT'
MANILA -- Basketball star-turned-actor Benjie Paras talked about the hardships of raising children on his own in this week's episode of "Tapatan Ni Tunying," hosted by Anthony Taberna.
Dubbed as PBA’s “Tower of Power,” Paras said he is proud of his sons, 17-year-old Andre and 15-year-old Kobe, who have become basketball players in their respective schools.
The "Got To Believe" star will also talk about his failed marriage with former actress Jackie Forster, the mother of Andre and Kobe, in the episode.
Years after retiring from basketball, Para returned to the hard court last year to guide San Beda Red Lions in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), alongside fellow PBA legend Ronnie Magsanoc.
“My knowledge in basketball has revived because of coaching. I am helping younger players to share with them what I achieved before,” he said.
Aside from Paras, Taberna will also interview another basketball veteran, Vergel Meneses, who also raised his children alone.
“You have to think of your kids first in everything that you do,” shared Vergel, PBA’s “Aerial Voyager.”
Like Paras, Vergel also returned to the basketball scene as the head coach of Jose Rizal University Bombers in the NCAA and as assistant coach of Air 21 in the PBA.
“Coaching is harder and more challenging. You have to deal with 15 players with different attitudes,” he shared.
“Tapatan ni Tunying” (TNT) airs on Thursday, September 26, at 4:45 p.m. on ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold.
