Pinoy Dream Academy Season (PDA) 2 Grand Star Dreamer Laarni Lozada is now making her dreams come true. Lozada is set to receive the Most Promising Female Performer award from Asian Excellence Awards at the Mandarin Suite in Gateway Hotel on Saturday, October 4.
"Yes (tatanggap ako ng award), ngayon ko lang nalaman yon. Sobrang proud ako salamat sa pagtitiwala," Lozada said.
Lozada said that she is really thrilled to attend the event and promised that she will do her best to show the people how thankful she is to have all the blessings she is getting right now.
"Naku, excited na po ako talagang pag-iigihan ko talaga. Lahat gagawin ko, ang best ko para sa kanila," the singer added.
Aside from Lozada, PDA Season 2's First Star Dreamer Bugoy Drilon will also get the Most Promising Male Performer Award.
Other newbie performers from Thailand and Japan are also set to participate in the awarding ceremony.
After winning the Season 2 of Pinoy Dream Academy, Lozada is now moving on to the next level with her upcoming CD.
Last September 30, Wednesday, Lozada signed a one-year-contract under Star Records.
"One year contract under Star Records.. CD muna so ‘yon ang pinag-uusapan," she said.
Lozada said that after the PDA, she is now focusing on her first project -- her album, but said that she is still open to do any other project that will come along the way.
Dubbed “the Princess from Sultan Kudarat”, Lozada shared that she is now enjoying her life as the Grand Star Dreamer but still adjusting to a new lifestyle brought by stardom.
"My God, although this is my first time, sa ngayon ay nag-aadjust ako. As long as mag-e-enjoy ka, walang imposible. Dati isa lang akong simpleng tao at mamamayan, afterwards nasa limelight na, pati ang family ko. Nag-iba na din ang pamimuhay namin. Proud pa din ako dahil kahit nandito ako sa kalagayan na ito at very supportive ang family ko. Basta nandiyan sila sa likod ko ay kayang-kaya," she said.
Rivalry with Bugoy?
Lozada, who burst into tears when she was announced the Grand Star Dreamer of the reality show PDA Season 2, had no choice but to answer issues between her and co-scholar Bugoy.
In an interview, Lozada dismissed reports that her number one rival now is Drilon.
“Okay lang po ‘yon. Nasa likod ng utak ko ‘yon. Madaming detractors at maraming magbibigay ng comments so nirerespeto ko po kung ano ang comments nila as long as ginagawa ko ang dapat kong gawin ang trabaho ko. Okay lang po ‘yon sa akin,” she said.
She stressed that despite the comparison that other people are creating, her friendship with Drilon and the rest of the scholars remains solid.
"Normal 'yan dahil may sarili siyang fans at may sarili akong supporters. Ang mga supporters lang, siguro hindi nila matanggap pero intact ang relationship namin. Sa loob ay hindi matatawaran ang samahan namin. So kung ano ang pagsubok na dumating ay okay pa din ang friendship namin, lahat lahat kaming scholars," she explained.
Lozada said that she is so proud with Bugoy and happy that their hits “Paano Na Kaya” and “Manalig Ka” are the two of most requested songs on FM radios like in DWRR.
