RJ Jimenez readies new single and CD, excited to be DOH envoy

Star Magic baby and Pinoy Dream Academy scholar RJ Jimenez is now busy with his upcoming single titled "Oo."
Jimenez, in an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, proudly said that he is also the writer of the songs in his latest CD.
"Malapit na yung bagong single entitled 'Oo.' Under Star Records pa din ito," Jimenez said.
He said that the song is for people, especially for men who are really serious in pursuing their love for their special someone.
"Medyo creative yung song kasi ginamit ko yung...like noong araw, yung ulan sa song para seryoso ang isang tao sa pag-ibig na ‘yon. Parang ganoon ang catch ng song," explains the singer.
According to Jimenez “Oo” might be released this year or early part of 2009.
The crooner, who is busy with a lot of shows, also shared that his debut album "RJ JMNZ" is still doing good and still available in the market.
This Friday, October 3, Jimenez has a post-birthday concert dubbed as "RJ Jimenez OST" at Bagaberde, Roxas Boulevard in Manila.
"I will be performing the songs I grew up with pati yung mga originals na din like songs. It's more of parang soundtracks ng buhay ko. It's like mga songs, including Eraserheads music," he shared.

Aside from singing and composing songs, Jimenez shared that he was chosen by the Department of Health (DOH) to be an ambassador for its nutrition campaign.
“Kinuha ako ng Department of Health para sa nutrition campaign nila, parang (ambassador) kasi napaka-healthy ako,” he said.
“Siguro nakikita nila na madali kong nakukuha iyong crowd ko na youth, talaga. Siguro, madali ko silang nai-influence” he added.
Jimenez said that his work for DOH will start this November and will end February next year.
He said that he will be performing two to three songs for every campaign event of DOH in different places in the country.
“Masaya kasi. Ang dami nilang puwedeng kunin, ako pa iyong napili nila. At least nabigyan ako ng chance na makatulong,” he said.
Jimenez, Pinoy Dream Academy Season 1 scholar, is known for his breakthrough hit single "Miss Kita Pag Tuesday." He turned 25 last September 17, Wednesday.
