Ex-bodyguard defends Patrick dela Rosa
MANILA, Philippines – The former bodyguard of Patrick dela Rosa came into the defense of the actor-turned-politician.
Dela Rosa is still detained at the Cubao Police station after he was arrested last week for allegedly raping a 20-year-old girl during a drinking spree.
Rolly Pascual visited dela Rosa at the police station on Sunday. He said he traveled to Manila from Bicol to see the actor after hearing the news of his arrest.
Pascual insisted that his former boss is not capable of rape.
But like the media, he too was unable to catch a glimpse of dela Rosa. After a few minutes, his mobile phone rang with dela Rosa supposedly on the other line. The two talked for a few seconds.
Dela Rosa remains elusive to the media. Lawyers from both camps have yet to issue their respective statements.
A paralegal officer from the camp of dela Rosa visited the suspect. He, however, left without talking to the actor. He also declined to be interviewed by the media.
Meanwhile, the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office is expected to release its decision on the actor’s case on Monday.
