MANILA – Actor Dingdong Dantes doesn’t think it is impossible for him to fall in love with a friend had he not been in a relationship at the present time.
In an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Dantes said he actually thinks a relationship founded on friendship is even better.
“Of course [it’s possible]. In fact, iyon ang isa sa pinakamasarap na relationship because you started off as best friends. May line nga sa movie na love ends but friendship is forever. What if combined 'yung dalawa?” he said.
“At the end of the day, kapag matanda na kayo, mas maganda yung parang magkaibigan talaga kayo on top of loving each other,” the actor added.
Dantes, who is currently promoting his movie “She’s the One,” plays Wacky in the Star Cinema-produced film, who is struggling with his true feelings for his best friend played by Bea Alonzo.
Alonzo's character, on the other hand, falls in love with a younger man played by Enrique Gil.
Asked if it is possible that she also falls in love with someone younger, Alonzo said: “Siguro possible din kasi maraming nangyayari na ganyan… After doing this film, na-realize ko na maybe na-in love sila because the younger guy has more energy and it brings out the youth na nawala nila.”
After fliming “She’s the One,” Alonzo said she realized that age doesn’t really matter when it comes to love.
Set to open in theater on October 17, "She's the One" will also feature Maricar Reyes, Guji Lorenzana, Coleen Garcia, Daniel Matsunaga Erika Padilla, Marc Solis, RS Francisco and Garlic Garcia.
