"We heard news before na dapat gagawin na, pero hindi natuloy," Rosales told reporters Tuesday at the sidelines of a fashion show by local clothing line Collezione C2, referring to a planned remake of the 2000 romance-drama series "Pangako Sa 'Yo."
But in case the revival of the hit series pushes through, Rosales said his personal wants Kapamilya talents Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson to take on the lead roles of Yna and Angelo.
"Honestly fan ako ni Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson, 'yun lang honestly. Nung nakita ko 'tong dalawang 'to, sabi ko, pwede 'to kung gagawin nila 'yung remake ng 'Pangako Sa 'Yo,'" Rosales said.
"Nag-aalab ang init ng love team namin nun eh, nung panahon na 'yun eh. So that's something to remember, something na pwede mong balik-balikan at alalahanin," he added.
Like him and Hermosa, Rosales' real-life sweetheart for a time, Chiu and Anderson's onscreen team-up eventually evolved into an off-camera romance.

Although plans for the TV return of "Pangako Sa 'Yo" have yet to push through, in Cambodia, the "teleserye" pioneer is getting a local adaptation.
ABS-CBN's International Distribution Division announced on Monday announced that "Pangako Sa 'Yo" will be localized for Cambodian viewers by the Cambodian Television Network, and will start production in early 2013.
"Unbelievable!" Rosales said of the news. "Twelve-year-old soap opera, marami pa kong tigyawat doon, at nare-review siya na ganun."
"Amazing. Kung gusto nila 'kong kunin dun sa set nila para magbigay ng input tungkol sa rock and roll namin ni Kristine Hermosa dati, game," he added.
This isn't the first time "Pangako Sa 'Yo" will reach international audiences. Since 2002, when it ended its original two-year run, the series has been aired in over 20 foreign territories.
The Chinese-dubbed version of the series rated second overall among local and foreign programs that aired in the country at the time.
Rosales even shared in an earlier interview his fondness for his African fans, who also became followers of the dramatic showdowns of Amor Powers (Eula Valdez) and Claudia Buenavista (Jean Garcia) when the series enjoyed its TV run in Ghana.
Over the years, other Kapamilya series, along with "Pangako Sa 'Yo," have been dubbed in English, Khmer, Mandarin, Bahasa Melayu, Vietnamese, Turkish, Russian, and French. They have also been subtitled in Bahasa Melayu and Romanian.
"So I'm very proud to have accepted that soap," said Rosales, who initially had reservations about accepting "Pangako Sa 'Yo" since it meant pulling out of a film project at the time.
Recalling this, Rosales added: "It's a sign for me to keep going and pursue ko lang 'yung mga pangarap ko. I'm so blessed and thankful na sagad-sagad na 'yung nangyari sa 'Pangako Sa 'Yo.' Marami na kong nabyahe dahil doon."
