MANILA – Malaysian actress Carmen Soo has underwent an operation to remove a lump from her breast.
Soo said it was a “very painful experience” and that she was “down for about two months.”
“For six weeks, I can manage to drive around. But it was so painful to the point that I could not really sleep, I could not really eat. It was the first operation ever in my life,” she told “The Buzz” Sunday.
Soo discovered an inch big lump in her breast 10 years ago.
“My doctors said it’s benign so I just left it but [we have to] monitor it every year,” she said.
Aside from regularly visiting her doctor, Soo would also do a self breast examination.
She, however, missed her check-up last year because she was busy making her teleserye here.
When she had it checked again this year, the lump was already two inches big. “It’s pretty big… you can see it.”
After the operation, Soo, who spent her birthday last week in the country, assured that she is now very healthy.
