MANILA, Philippines – A family of "biritera" singers from Santiago, Isabela City was named the grand champion of the Bida Kapamilya talent search of ABS-CBN's noontime variety program "It's Showtime".

Earning a perfect score from all 9 "hurados" for their all-out pop-"birit" sing-and-dance number, the Gollayan family bested over 200 contestants who joined the seventh edition of the noontime show's talent competition.

Other competing finalists on Saturday were: Santos family of Malabon; Lucero family of Calamba, Laguna; Rivera family of Binangonan, Rizal; Perez family of Tarlac; Diokno family of Valenzuela; Villalobo family of Infanta, Quezon; Caindoy family of Quezon City; and De Jesus family of Navotas.

As "Showtime" grand champion, the Gollayan family will take home P1 million.

For their last-chance Bida Kapamilya number, four Gollayan women and their matriarch sang "I Believe I Can Fly" in their signature "birit" level performance.

This was followed by a medley of dance hits including "Queen of the Night" and "Don't Stop the Music." At this part, the Gollayan family members showed off their dance skills, before ending the performance to a standing ovation from "hurados" and the "madlang people" alike.

Heeding the sight, the Gollayans were seen on their knees, as they appeared overwhelmed with emotions.

"Bagay na bagay sa inyo ang kasuotan ninyo -- ginto," "It's Showtime" host and judge Vice Ganda said of the family's winning performance, addressing its members.

"May mga tinayuan na akong [performances]. Sa inyo, napanganga lang ako. Ang galing, kinilabutan ako. Ang husay ninyo," he added.

The Kapamilya comedian also commended the group's level of performance, relative to the other competing finalists'.

"Sa umpisa pa lang, sabi ko, 'yung totoo, 'Contest 'to o concert niyo?' Concert niyo. Parang hindi kayo kasali, lumevel up kayo. Hindi niyo sila ka-level. 'Iba kami, kami ang guest performer,'" he said.

The Gollayans were mentored by renowned singer and stage actor Robert Seña, who had guided the family on their last-chance number leading up to the grand showdown.

"Ito po ang pinaka-importante. Itong pamilya na 'to, inuuna nila ang Panginoon before anything else," Seña said.

"Can you imagine, sabay kami kumakain, [kaya ako naging emotional]. Nakita ko talaga 'yung development nila," he added.

Continuing his critique of their performance, Vice Ganda reminded the Gollayan family that their "haters" can now only marvel at their accomplishment as a singing group.

"Ang dami-dami niyong haters, ang daming hindi naniniwala sa inyo. Sa pinakita niyong 'yan, anong gawa ng mga haters niyo ngayon? Tulala, pahiya," Vice Ganda said.

For their part, a member of the Gollayan family, said: "Pangarap po talaga namin ito."
