MANILA, Philippines – Actress Lotlot de Leon does not bear ill feelings towards her biological parents, who had her adopted when she was was still young.

In an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, de Leon said she appreciates the fact that her biological mom and dad were “human enough” to apologize that they had to give her up.

“They’re humble enough to accept also the mistakes that they’ve done. For that, I’m very grateful,” she said.

De Leon said she chooses not to blame her real parents because she believes that everything that happened was God’s will.

“Wala nang sisihan. Pagtanggap na lang. It’s the love that I have for them. Hindi na rin naman sila mga bata. I appreciate it when my parents said they’re sorry. You just have to accept that. It’s God’s will. Plinano na ng Diyos ang buhay natin eh,” she said.

De Leon said she can never be thankful enough that her parents let her go because if not for them, she would not have met the family who raised her well.

The actress is the daughter of veteran actress Nora Aunor and dramatic actor Christopher de Leon by adoption.

“The wrong decisions that they made led me to a good life, to a better me. Nanay ko si Nora Aunor, tatay ko si Christopher de Leon, kapatid ko si Matet, si Ian, si Ken at si Kiko. I can’t ask for more,” she said.

According to de Leon, she met her real mother in the 1990s but it was only in 2009 when she came face to face with her dad.

Asked how her adoptive parents reacted when she started to look for her biological parents, de Leon said: “Magaganda kasi ang puso ng mga magulang ko eh. Si mommy, noong nagpunta ako sa Chicago noong 2009, alam na niya na that was my purpose of going there.”

De Leon said she is just thankful that she found her biological parents since not all adopted children who are searching for their real parents get the chance.

“I want to know my roots eh. I think that’s very important. Hindi mo man kayang harapin ngayon, darating ang panahon na magtatanong ka pa rin kung bakit. At the same time, mayroon pa ring salamat,” she said.

“Hindi naman po kasi kabawasan ng pagmamahal ko sa Mommy Guy ko at sa Daddy Boyet ko ang pagtatanong kung saan ako nanggaling. Hindi porket nagtanong ako, hindi ko sila mahal or that I’m ungrateful. I am very blessed that I was placed with the family that I have,” she added.
