Enrique Gil hopes to fill up Araneta for concert
MANILA -- Actor Enrique Gil is hoping to pack the spacious Araneta Coliseum on November 29 for his first-ever concert "King of The Gil."
"Kahit pa hindi handa, ang mindset dapat ay handa na ako. Kaya natin 'yan," Gil told ABS-CBNNews.com on Tuesday. "Sana mapuno ko. If not, okay lang. The point is successful ang show at mag-enjoy sila. 'Yun ang number one."
Gil said he will be preparing hard for his concert, which will focus more on dance numbers.
Joining him in the concert are Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin, Toni Gonzaga, Kim Chiu, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Rico Blanco, Gloc-9, Young JV, Arjo Atayde, Ejay Falcon, Aaron Villaflor and the G-Force.
He will also have a special dance number with "Muling Buksan Ang Puso" co-star Julia Montes.
"Ang partikular na pinili ko siguro si Vice kasi ma-concert siya at saka siya talaga ang tumulog sa akin. Kaya ngayon sabi ko siya naman ang mag-guest sa akin," he explained.
"Si Julia Montes, sila Aaron at Young JV, I think may iba't ibang aspeto sila sa concert na distinct sa kanila na sa tingin ko ay sila 'yung makaka-perfect ng prod na 'yon," Gil added.
Competing with Daniel
In the interview, Gil also shrugged off comparisons with his former "Princess and I" co-star Daniel Padilla, who also had a successful concert at the Big Dome last April.
"Well they can compare if they want, pero iba ang concert niya at iba ang concert ko. This is dance, it's different from what he's doing. Sa kanya, it's rock, banda so it's totally different genres. Pero concert pa din. We are just doing what we love to do, 'yun lang," Gil said.
Gil said he can't do anything to stop people from comparing him to Padilla.
"Trabaho ng ibang tao 'yon. (Kami) hindi naman namin pinag-uusapan 'yon," Gil said.
Currently, Padilla is busy with his series "Got To Believe" with Kathryn Bernardo, while Gil just finished the series "Muling Buksan Ang Puso" with Montes.
