MANILA, Philippines - Award-winning film director Brillante Mendoza finally broke his silence on the controversy involving his film "Thy Womb."

Some questions on why his film made it to the final list of this year's Metro Manila Film Festival given the fact that it already joined other festival.

They also questioned why star Nora Aunor will have two film entries in the MMFF. Aside from "Thy Womb," Aunor is also part of "El Presidente" with lead star George Estregan.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Brillante stressed there was no violation committed.

"Wala tayong nilabag up to the very end, hanggang sa ma-reject tayo noong una hanggang sa pangalawa noong ma-invite ulit tayo. Ang pinaka-importante dito ay yung magsama-sama, ano ba yung objective natin dito yung magbigay tayo ng saya, yung mga intriga huwag na muna nating isipin yon," Brillante said.

In a separate interview, Aunor clarified that she only has a cameo role in "El Presidente."
