Sarah, Cristine cross paths at Viva party
Viva celebrates 31st anniv
MANILA, Philippines -- Former "rivals" in love Cristine Reyes and Sarah Geronimo crossed paths at a party held Thursday night celebrating the 31st anniversary of their common talent management agency.
The two Kapamilya stars were seen greeting each other (above) at a gathering of artists managed by the talent management outfit of Viva Entertainment.
Marking the 31st year of the entertainment production company, the party also celebrated the birthday of its founder, Vic del Rosario.
Both managed by Viva Artists Agency, Geronimo and Reyes figured in a controversial spat over actor-dancer Rayver Cruz in 2010, when Reyes took to micro-blogging site Twitter to rant about a "drama princess," later on identified to be Geronimo.
The actor-dancer was romantically linked to Geronimo before he and Reyes became a couple.
Geronimo and Reyes have since been reported to be in good terms after their reconciliation.
At the party held Thursday night, both actresses wished del Rosario well. Geronimo referred to del Rosario as her "second dad."
"Wala na akong mahahanap pa na tulad ni Boss Vic. Sobrang mahal naman si siya," said Geronimo, whose big break in showbiz was via a singing contest hosted by Asia's Song Bird Regine Velasquez.
Velasquez was also spotted at the party with husband Ogie Alcasid. She was seen engaged in a conversation with Geronimo (above) for a good part of the night.
For her part, Reyes, an alumnus of a reality talent search, said she is "very, very happy na parte ako ng pamilya ng Viva Artists."
"Maraming salamat po sa pag-aalaga niyo sa amin, and sana mas lalo pa tayong maging successful lahat. Hindi ko malilimutan 'yung walang sawa niyang (del Rosario) suporta sa amin in everyway," she added.
After a string of successes on TV and film -- she topbilled the second highest-grossing local film of all time "No Other Woman" (2011) and starred in the ABS-CBN drama series "Dahil sa Pag-Ibig" -- Reyes is now set to headline a new Kapamilya soap, titled "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin."
In the series, Reyes will be paired with Kapamilya leading man Gerald Anderson. For a time, the "Budoy" star was also romantically linked to Geronimo until they had a falling out.
Joining Reyes and Anderson in "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin" is veteran actress Maricel Soriano (seen above with Herbert Bautista), who also attended the gathering on Thursday.
Other personalities seen at the event were actor Gabby Concepcion, celebrity stylist Liz Uy, controversial talent manager Annabelle Rama, TV host Willie Revillame, actor-model BB Gandanghari, former Kapamilya balladeer Mark Bautista, singer Mitch Valdez, former "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate Sam Pinto, veteran singer Basil Valdez, and Kapamilya leading lady Andi Eigenmann. -- with a report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
