Like the Highlander, in the end there can be only one.

Gabriel Valenciano and Jasmin Nabelgas danced up a storm and bested two other dance duos to win TV5's newly revamped dance competition "Shall We Dance" Sunday night.

Gab and Jasmin did three sets of dances including a contemporary number and the pasa doble to win the competition and the P500,000 grand prize. A visibly tense Valenciano thanked the Lord for winning the competition and then invited the other teams to join them on the dance floor.

Sexbomb Jopay Paguia and his partner, Mark Cruz, placed second runner-up while Danilo Barrios and Stephanie Sabalo placed first runner-up.

Gab also said choreographer Douglas Nierras is one of the few teachers that really made him excel in his craft. "He once told me that he wouldn't cut me any slack just because I was the son of Gary Valenciano," he said.

Gab and Jasmin had a rollercoaster ride to the finals, starting out strong and then bordering on the brink of elimination. The duo entered the finals after defeating ex-PBB housemate Saicy Aguila and Johnny Amar, ex-PBB housemate Mickey Perz and Raine Tolentino and Sexbomb Cheche Tolentino and partner Dice in the wildcard round last October 26.

According to his MySpace page, Gab is an actor, dancer, host, choreographer, percussionist, and commercial model who appears regularly on ABS-CBN's weekly variety show ASAP 08.
