Pro-Noynoy celebrities defended
MANILA – It is no doubt a star-studded political advertisement.
Sports personalities and celebrities from both Kapamilya and Kapuso networks have appeared in the three-minute “Hindi Ka Nag-iisa” TV advertisement of presidential aspirant Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
Some of these celebrities were ABS-CBN talents Sharon Cuneta, Boy Abunda, Anne Curtis, Bea Alonzo, Bianca Gonzalez, Ai-Ai delas Alas, Mariel Rodriguez, and Kris Aquino, Noynoy’s youngest sibling; GMA 7 stars Regine Velasquez, Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera and Ogie Alcasid.
Velasquez, known as Asia’s Songbird, belted out the “Hindi ka Nag-iisa” theme song.
Basketball players led by Kris’ husband, James Yap, also participated in the TV ad.
"I'm so proud of the fact that Noy's video had the best of both networks. So, parang they dedicated their services to Noy because they believe in him,” Kris said.
Kris added that the celebrities agreed to appear in the campaign ad for free.
According to her, the second part of the political ad will come out soon and it will feature more celebrity supporters of Noynoy.
Pro-Noynoy?
Although the stars who took part in the political ad were mostly Kapamilya talents, Bong Osorio, head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications, maintained that they did not represent the stand of the network.
In a phone interview, Osorio pointed out that the celebrities did it out of their own volition and it was a “personal choice.”
"Any support that you give to a political candidate is something you do based on your own choice. Dahil it’s freedom. It's part of your freedom to choose whoever you want to support regardless if you are Kapuso or Kapamilya," he said.
Osorio also downplayed speculations that ABS-CBN was favoring Noynoy. The speculations cited the network’s purported too much coverage of his activities. Some also said that the senator allegedly gets too many airtime on ABS-CBN because his sister is a contract star of the network.
Osorio dismissed these speculations. He also stressed that ABS-CBN gives equal time to all political candidates.
He explained: "We give equal time to everyone. Kris is our talent and Kris is strongly associated with Noynoy. What can we do, they’re siblings? And the coverage about them is relevant news, the latest of which is 'yong coverage ng Undas. Their parents are two prominent personalities. That's relevant coverage."
Nonetheless, in an effort to stop the speculations, Osorio said a committee composed of ABS-CBN senior officers is set to release a guideline on Kapamilya talents endorsing politicians.
Aquino-Erap tiff?
Meanwhile, Kris clarified that there are no ill feelings between her family and former president Joseph “Erap” Estrada.
Estrada, also a presidential aspirant in next year’s polls, allegedly complained of Noynoy's supposed undue advantage over ABS-CBN.
“Whether you believe it or not, we still have good relations with him,” Kris said. “In fact, manonood kami ng sisters ko ng movie nila ni Ai-Ai [delas Alas] because it’s Ai-Ai’s birthday.”
Estrada and Delas Alas are the lead stars of Star Cinema’s “Ang Tanging Pamilya.” The comedy film is Estrada’s comeback movie after more than two decades of break from show business.
Estrada was supposed to appear on “The Buzz” two weeks ago but the deposed president failed to show up reportedly due to health reasons.
Kris, who is the co-host of the show, denied that she was the reason for his absence.
“Baka it’s not about us, but another issue about the movie. Baka meron silang issue doon. Baka he really was not feeling well kaya ayaw niya,” she explained. “As far as my family is concerned and he is concerned, the communication lines remain open,” she said, adding:
“You know regularly, he (Estrada) sends us fruits pa rin. Kasi dati, the whole time mom was sick, every week nagpapadala siya. Tapos last week lang nagpadala siya sa amin ng peaches, ponkans, and grapes."

well, i agree with you guys who have guts for Bayani but sice then, we have to be more specific! Bayani is not a winable candidate or he has not sure of his plan, if then, you lose your vote and it seems that you give chance other candidates after Noy, i may also choose Bayani but in the fact that he is not winable i do not want to vote for him not because but i have also certain reason for Noy. This is just to ensure that Gibo, MV, Erap will not win and has no chance to lead in this country. I know that Noy is not that agressive acting his political career that because he is not that too ambitious or he is just simply a simple life, and he is not dreaming to lived in the Palace, but since, people were hungry of what so called decency, and transparency of good governance! we need a man of integrity that can inspired us to lived life with an upper hand and say i will be proud of being a Filipino.

Questions
In an election such as the office of presidency which the elected individual is voted in a process of votes or ballots. How are the other district or provinces which speak another dialect are being inform in regards to the choices? As I recall as a child and it maybe different now considering the progress in technology and the telecommunication broadcasting network, but as I recall how vague it was to understand even in the mind of an adults to even comprehend the importance of this event. What are the issues that the candidates should be addressing in regards to our country needs? How well are they being conveyed to the rest of the population that doesn't speak Tagalog nor English? Is the main focus will always be the center of power? What about the problem in other provincial area, how are they being address in regards to the development, culturally and education? Will they always take second to the people up North? Will you guys up North will ever make a gesture of learning our dialect? Okay maybe those 2 last question is not necessary but, these as a child before me, I will always held in bitterness in addressing our national issue as a country. Therefore, how can we say Mabuhay ang Pilipinas?

Everyone must respect each other opinion but 4 me I have 2 credit each Presidential candidate as long as they don’t have history of corruption and any anomaly, but since then I have my right 2 choose one of them as in my own point of view as person. I choose for Noy! Why? - It is because not for the reason that he is a son of Ninoy and Cory or he is famous or what? Coz it is not his mistake of being a son of those above-mention parents and a sister of Kris but because I believed him as a man of integrity!-Noy, can offer integrity! Decency, transparency that brings aspiration of the people for change and hope!
That character centers around decency, integrity, a track record of not being tainted with any irregularity or anomaly in public service,” if leadership and managerial competence would be basic to the presidency then he can why not? The Pres. is the executive not a lawmaker right! It means if he leads towards decency and transparency of good governance then we start stopping all stupid lies, cheating, and corruption. we have Judiciary dept. we have Senate and Congress, we have LGUs, we have families as lower branch of our institution, we are responsible of our own country what we need is to work and pray that God gives us glory of what we pray for. That is life! In Politics of Democratic country we have to vote for good for life. This is to give the importance of being a human to face the consequences of it.
Remember that Jesus gives the real meaning of life! If we take his words seriously, Jesus offers life with real meaning. He said that life is much more than making money, having fun, being successful, and then ending up in a graveyard. Yet, many people still try to find meaning in fame and success, even those who have already made it to the mountaintop. Peace!

I doubt kung humahanga talaga yung mga artista, basketball players sa nsupport eh dahil sa influence ni Kris, Boy, Ch7, Ch2, James Yap etc. Also, 'baka' yung iba eh hinde rin aware sa problema ng government or they simply dont care, for them to really look for qualified candidate. Let's wait and see kung ano ng bagong 'title' ni baby James pag nasa malacanang na sila ulet. Meron ng first child endorser, first child etc...
