MANILA - Aga Muhlach was taken aback when the entertainment press told him that he is Kris Aquino’s choice to play her father, slain former senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., in her mother’s biopic.

“Siyempre nakakagulat ‘yon. Natutuwa ako pero sana lang magampanan ko ng mabuti ‘yon. That’s really so nice of her even just to consider me. Thank you. Let’s do it, she’s saying nga na pareho ‘yong experiences namin about sa moms namin and we both know how it feels (losing a parent). Siya bahala. Game ako,” Muhlach said.

With a handful of projects lined up for him next year, the 40-year-old actor remains the country’s most preferred leading man.

“Salamat talaga na I’m being considered sa mga pelikula na gusto nilang gawin. That’s why nagmamadali na ako magpapayat nang magpapayat. Especially next year, it will be a very busy year for me.”

He is also looking forward to his upcoming Star Cinema movie with Angel Locsin, which is expected to be released next year.

Meanwhile, he also clarified rumors about him entering politics. He admitted that he has been busy with his charity works, but he said it does not mean that he is running for public office next year.

“I have nothing against it (politics), but you know it’s like when the time is right. When the time comes that I believe na may sistema na talagang tamang umaandar, that’s the only time I will consider. But right now, no. Sinusubukan ko pero hindi talaga,” he said.
