Kris Aquino drops Yap surname
MANILA, Philippines - Television host Kris Aquino, President Benigno Aquino III's youngest sister, is dropping the surname of her estranged husband, James Yap.
In her official Twitter page, Aquino said she will use her old name again as a Makati court continues to hear her petition to nullify her 5-year marriage to Yap.
"My new last name is the old 1 Aquino," she tweeted.
Aquino, via her tweets, also hinted at the possibility of reconciliation with Yap.
She divulged that Yap, who is romantically linked to different women, including actress Isabel Oli, has no “girlfriend yet as far as I know.”
"But I do know the time will come when we'll really be good friends. Y? Because of Bimby- who told me when he's 4 yrs old, we have to call him James because he'll be a big boy then! Life has a good way of moving forward. And making us feel comfortable w/ all that is & all that's to come," Aquino said, referring to their 3-year-old son baby James.
In what seemed to be the first step toward bridging the gap between them, she even invited Yap to watch a movie with her and her children, Baby James and Joshua, her child from a previous relationship.
"Yes, josh, bimby, & I watched Megamind in Rockwell w/ James. Serious ako when I said I really want us to be friends. Na happy my 2 boys- so I'm happy! Y be angry when we can be peaceful & friendly. Oh & bonus, Vice Ganda my movie buddy joined us! Good night," the Queen of Talk said, adding:
"I just read James' interview w/ tito Ricky (Lo, entertainment columnist of The Philippine Star)- truth is we r now communicating better. Honest, walang ill feelings na on my part. He said there na he couldn't talk about me- I will talk about him, OKAY kami. I even told him na I'm praying we end up good friends because that's how we started. Told u- it's not the way I hoped or how I planned but somehow it's enough!"
