"It's called 'Little Star,' it's for kids, so I'm looking forward kasi hindi lang ako matutuwa, kundi pati 'yung anak ko," Vina Morales told ABS-CBN News on Thursday.
"[It will feature] new kids, new singers, very talented. 'Di ba 'Little Star,' it's a contest, so 'yun, gagawing soap opera, kung sino 'yung mananalo, something like that," Morales added.
In 2005, ABS-CBN aired a singing contest for children called "Little Big Star." Hosted by Sarah Geronimo, the talent search saw the rise to fame of Kapamilya talents Sam Concepcion, Charice, Rhap Salazar and Makisig Morales, among others.
"We're going to start next week, we're preparing for a lot of things -- look test, story conference, so we're very busy with that," Morales said of the preparations for the series.
The actress-singer said she is particularly excited to topbill the series, since it is more family-oriented compared to her last TV series project.
"Ako, I'm very excited dahil talagang matagal na kong naghihintay ng soap na pambata ulit," said Morales, whose last soap opera was the mystery thriller "Nasaan Ka, Elisa?"
"Ngayon happy ako, na mapapanood na ulit ako ng anak ko," she added. -- with a report from Gretchen Fullido, ABS-CBN News
