MANILA - Malaysian actress Carmen Soo said rumors of her alleged involvement in the breakup of Rachelle Ann Go and Gab Valenciano are "baseless."
"I don't feel the need to justify something so baseless. My name is conveniently dragged into it so... it's kind of silly," Soo said during an interview at the launch of her latest product endorsement.
Soo said it is not the first time she was accused of being the cause of a breakup. Early this year, she was also reported to have been involved in the breakup of actor John Lloyd Cruz and stylist Liz Uy.
"Since I was here a year ago, I'd been accused many times, which all turn[ed] out to be false. Maybe everyone should be kinder to me," the Malaysian actress said.
Soo may have been linked to the Go-Valenciano breakup since she and Valenciano are close friends.
"It's not [a] secret that we are friends, and it's not a secret that we hang out. It's not like that we are hiding. When there's nothing to hide, there's nothing. So no more tsismis-tsismis ha," she said.
Soo became sardonic when prodded about her relationship with Valenciano.
"Actually, we are getting married. Like, we are printing our wedding cards right now, so in love. I'm actually 5 months pregnant. Yes, there's really something going on for sure," she said sarcastically.
Not a third wheel
Valenciano also denied that Soo was part of the breakup, saying that the actress is a good friend.
"It just so happened that Echo (Jericho Rosales) was very busy with his soap so I offered to hang out with her. In reality, Carmen Soo is a very good friend of mine. Kumbaga she is the one pa nga who tells me 'Gab, be patient with her,'" Valenciano said.
Valenciano said he is currently single and is not dating anyone at the moment.
"Not in a million years. The next girl I want to date is Rachell Ann Go," he said.
Meanwhile, Valenciano (son of famous singer and dancer Gary Valenciano) admitted that he and Go are not yet on speaking terms after their breakup.
"You know if its her decision na ayaw niya munang makipag-communicate I will respect it," Valenciano said in an interview with "SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon."
Go, meanwhile, said that a time will come that their lines of communication will be open again.
"Darating din ang time na okay na ang lahat. Siyempre na-mi-miss ko ang mga panahon, ang mga memories. Pero siyempre iba naman ngayon," she said.
