'MasterChef PH' starts airing
MANILA, Philippines - After months of searching for the best cooks in the country, ABS-CBN finally named some of the hopefuls, who might get the chance to become the first "MasterChef Pinoy Edition" grand winner.
On Monday morning, Kapamilya network aired the pilot episode of "MasterChef Pinoy Edition" with chef-judges Fern Aracama, Rolando Laudico and JP Anglo and host-judge Judy Ann Santos.
Lilibeth Nicolas, 31, a housemaid from Quezon City was the first homecook contestant to receive the coveted "MasterChef Pinoy Edition" black apron.
Nicolas, who was abandoned by her husband, wowed chef-judges and Santos with her specialty "Menudo De Solefania."
Mac Serrano, 29, a former seaman from Tarlac, also made it to the second round with his four dishes -- "Puso ng Saging Sisig," "Adobong Kangkong," "Sisig na Kamote and Eggplant" and "CJ Salad."
Former entertainer in Japan, Pebbles Cunana, 43, also got the approval of chef-judges with his "Cabbage Roll."
For the next two weeks, "MasterChef Pinoy Edition" will be giving black aprons to deserving hopefuls. They will then announce the 15 contestants who will made it through the final round.
"MasterChef Pinoy Edition" airs weekdays before "Be Careful With My Heart." Meanwhile,"MasterChef Saturdish Edition" airs on Saturdays with Melai Cantiveros and former "Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 4" housemates Joj and Jai Agpangan.
