Cops deny inmates physically abused Baron
MANILA, Philippines – The Quezon City Police District Station 5 on Tuesday denied a claim by controversial actor Baron Geisler that he was physically abused while he was inside jail.
QCPD Station 5 Commander Supt. Virgilio Fabian said there is no truth to Geisler's claim that he was punched by some inmates as a form of '"initiation."
Geisler, who was sent to jail after figuring in a scuffle with neighbor Ray dela Rosa last Friday, said a medico legal report will prove that he suffered a concussion due to the alleged punching.
However, some inmates interviewed by radio dzMM denied the accusation, saying they even helped Geisler talk to his girlfriend and shield him from insistent reporters.
They added Geisler may have sustained the bruises during the brawl with dela Rosa.
Asked to comment on the police's denial, Geisler said: "Hindi na po ako magkokomento dyan.
Geisler is already out of jail after reaching a settlement with dela Rosa. – with a report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
