MANILA, Philippines -- Singer Gary Valenciano denied that Manila Genesis Entertainment and Management Inc., which manages his career, has already signed up singer Charice as a talent.

"Actually that's the rumor because 'yun nga naging close kami ni Charice but no. We will help her when she's in Manila if she needs our help," Valenciano told ABS-CBNnews.com during the press conference for his latest album "Gary V Sings Just For You" on Wednesday.

Valenciano and Charice were both judges in the recently concluded "The X Factor Philippines" along with Martin Nievera and Pilita Corrales.

"I think more than anything else is that we are willing to be, not managers really, but more like a friend than can help her out if she has questions about the industry or questions about what to do and all. Kasi grabe din 'yung mga naghahawak sa kanya sa States and because of that we have to show respect to them also. But anytime she comes to Manila and she comes on her own we'll be around for. Martin (Nievera) will always be around for her," Valenciano added.

The singer said Genesis, which is headed by Valenciano's wife, Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano, is "definitely" open to manage Charice's local career.

"I think managing her in the Philippines we can definitely help out. But I'm sure because of her experience and because of her management there also, she will always travel with somebody from there at 'yung kakausap sa amin ay 'yung kasama niyang nanggaling doon, hindi si Charice mismo. If Charice will come to us, 'Tito, ano kaya ang pwede kong gawin' that's not management. That's more like developing the artist more than management," he explained.

Asked if Charice had expressed interest in getting Genesis to manage her caeer, Valenciano replied: "I think with Angeli she mentioned na if she comes to Manila sana we're always around for her, parang ganoon. No doubt lalong lalo na kung may Season 2 ang 'X Factor' at kami pa din ang mga judges, we will definitely be around for her."
