Lily Monteverde and Maricel Soriano guesting on "KrisTV"

MANILA, Philippines - Actress Maricel Soriano on Wednesday thanked Regal matriarch Lily Monteverde for helping pave the way to her showbiz success.

"Unang una gusto ko magpasalamat kasi dahil kay Mother ngayon ko masasabi na napaka-blessed ko na nagkaroon ako ng producer na kaibigan mo na ay nanay mo pa. Hindi ako tinuring na iba," Soriano said in her guesting on "KrisTV" aired on Wednesday.

"Kasi naramdaman ko 'yon na ang turing niya ay anak talaga. Nandiyan na pagsasabihan ka, nandiyan na papagalitan ka. Totoo galit talaga sa akin 'yung binagsakan ka ng phone 'aray!' yung ganoon. Oo papagalitan ka talaga kasi sasabihin sa iyo 'yung pagkakamali mo. Marami akong natutunan at pinagpapasalamat ko yon," the actress added.

Soriano is marking her 30 years as one of the original "Regal Babies." She was only 16 when she started doing movies for Regal, which launched her to teen stardom in the 1980s film "Underage."

"Kay Mother, actually ang totoo niyan mas maaga pa nga. Dapat nag-start ako kay Mother 13 ako. Naging 16 'Underage' na," the actress recalled.

Asked what she thinks is the most outstanding quality of Mother Lily, Soriano replied: "That she speaks from her heart."
