MANILA, Philippines – Aware of Shaina Magdayao's troubled relationship with boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz, Jake Cuenca is all praises for the way his co-star carries herself on the set of their upcoming series on ABS-CBN, "Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo."

"She's so professional. As in hindi naramdaman at all na she's going through something. Professional talaga bilang artista," Cuenca told Push.com.ph.

"She's good, she's very good. No problem working with her whatsoever," he added.

Cuenca said he can't help but admire Magdayao for being an "independent" and "strong" woman.

"Ako hangang-hanga ako kay Shaina. Parang ang lakas niyang tao. Bilang isang babae. Hindi na siya bata, definitely an independent, strong woman, and I'm proud of her, sobra," he said.

"Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo," which tells the story of overseas Filipino workers, is Cuenca's second television project with Magdayao. Their first team-up was in the defunct ABS-CBN primetime series "Rubi," which was headlined by Angelica Panganiban.

However, this will be their first time to topbill a television series.

"Gusto naming ilabas ang katotohanan tungkol sa OFWs. Gusto naming ilabas 'yung soap namin based sa storya na nakuha namin sa different OFW stories. Gusto naming ikwento 'yung hirap ng buhay [nila]," Cuenca said.

"Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo" is set to air on ABS-CBN channel 2 next year.
