MANILA - Actor Jericho Rosales defended his former girlfriend Heart Evangelista against rumors that she is meddling with his love life.

Evangelista was rumored to be texting and calling girls linked to Rosales. During the launch of Rosales's newest endorsement, the actor said Evangelista is not the type to run after his current love interests.

"I don't believe that Heart will do that. She is not the type," Rosales said.

Reports said Evangelista called up actress Kristine Hermosa, who is Rosales's ex-girlfriend and his co-star in the soap opera "Dahil May Isang Ikaw." It is unclear, however, what Evangelista allegedly told Hermosa.

"We don't have a relationship. And Heart would never do that. Wala akong kilalang ganoong Heart na tatawagan ang mga taong (nauugnay sa akin), especially now na we are not together. Noon ngang kaming dalawa ay hindi naman siya ganoon," Rosales said. 

The actor said he wishes that controversies involving him and Evangelista would be put to rest. The pair broke up almost 2 years ago.

"We'[ve] been separated for almost 2 years at 'yon pa din ang umiikot. If there's anything else pa, that's between us na," he said.

Rosales, who is busy taping for "Dahil May Isang Ikaw", is also set to do another movie and television series next year.

If given a chance, the actor said he would like to do a project with popular child star Zaijan Jaranilla - more popularly known as "Santino" from the hit television series "May Bukas Pa."

He has several plans lined up for 2010, including buying a house, taking a short course, and finding a new girlfriend.
