MANILA, Philippines -- Jake Ejercito, the son of former President Joseph Estrada, finally broke his silence about his breakup with actress Andi Eigenmann.

In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal, Ejercito admitted that it was he who had a change of heart, confirming that he really sent a message to Eigenmann saying: "I don’t feel the same anymore.”

In a previous interview with "The Buzz," Eigenmann admitted that she and Ejercito have broken up and that she can't do anything to force anyone to continue to love her.

Eigenmann's confession on “The Buzz” came after her mother Jaclyn Jose revealed that Ejercito’s parents did not approve of her daughter since she already has a child out of wedlock.

But Ejercito clarified that even before Jose gave her comments, his relationship with Eigenmann was already on the rocks. However, he admitted that he was hurt with the statements of Jose, who even dragged the names of his parents Estrada and former actress Laarni Enriquez

“Alam mo naman 'yung mom ko, very low-profile since nawala siya sa showbiz. Tapos, 'yung dad ko pa, di ba? Nakakahiya naman sa dad ko. Pero 'yun nga, buti kung may basis, e, 'yung insinuations ni Tita Jane. Kaso lang, hindi talaga, e. Wala, e. Yung ‘Baka ayaw ng parents niya,’ hindi talaga ganu’n, e. Alam niya ‘yon. Even si Andi. Andi wouldn’t have reacted that way kung tama ang insinuations ng mom niya,” Ejercito explained.

He revealed that until now Eigenmann continues to apologize for what happened.

"Kasi nga, hindi niya pa rin madiretso 'yung mom ko. So, until now, nagso-sorry pa rin siya. Hiyang-hiya siya," he said.

Asked of his message to Eigenmann, Ejercito replied: “Siguro, basically, 'Stay strong.' I mean, Ellie needs you. I’m happy for you na kahit paano, di ba? Konti lang ang nakakagawa nung nakakabalik pa. So, 'yun ang message ko sa kanya. Keep it up with her career, take care of Ellie. Ang cute-cute na bata!”

“Sa mommy niya naman, I mean, wala namang nawala sa respect ko sa kanya. Siguro, may mga nasabi lang siya na siguro nabigla din siya. Nandun pa rin 'yung respect ko sa kanya and everything. Sumama lang 'yung loob ko nang konti, pero Tita Jane pa rin siya sa akin,” he added.

Ejercito said he is not closing his doors on the possibility of reconciliation with Eigenmann. But for now he said he will concentrate on his studies first.

“Well, nothing is impossible naman po, di ba? Pero, as of now, mukhang sobrang lumabo po bigla, e. After nung interview ni Tita Jane [Jaclyn Jose], siguro after some time, 'pag naayos na namin, 'pag naayos ‘yon, either parents muna…Pero kasi po, 'yun nga, wala naman ako sa posisyon na hindi sumunod sa parents ko, na parang, ‘Hindi ko kayo susundin, kami na lang ni Andi!’ Nag-aaral pa ako. Nasa London pa nga ako, napakasuwerte ko. So, pagbubutihin ko ang pag-aaral ko,” he said.

Ejercito is taking up Political Science and Business Management in the U.K.
