MANILA – The Ranillo family is hurting over accusations being hurled at them amid the rumors on the alleged affair between Manny Pacquiao and Krista Ranillo.

In a text message sent to “The Buzz” host Boy Abunda on Saturday, Krista’s father, Mat Ranillo III, admitted that “the family is deeply hurt with this insanity.”

Mat also lamented that his family has “been accused and abused but we’ve forgiven those who has wronged us even though they know the truth and still fabricate lies.”

He also observed: “People are amused with negativism than national honor, cultivate hate than love.”

Krista, who will be back in the country from the United States next week, has been at the center of the controversy ever since she admitted that she saw Pacquiao in Hong Kong in a chance encounter.

Speculations about their alleged affair began to spread in the Internet. Photos and video of them together have been uploaded and circulated.

Some even speculated that Krista is purportedly pursuing Pacquiao because her father, Mat, needs the People's Champ support when he runs in 2010 elections.

In his interviews, Pacquiao has neither confirmed nor denied the alleged affair. Krista’s talent manager, on the other hand, has maintained that the two were just good friends. Krista, Pacquiao’s co-star in “Wapakman, has yet to issue a statement.
