Internet buzz: Charice to sing at Obama's inauguration?

The Internet is abuzz with speculations by fans of young diva Charice about the possibility of the Filipina singer performing at US President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration.

abs-cbnNEWS.com tried to find out where this 'inauguration performance' report started via online research, and the news site found the post of g-rex_03 at http://www.peyups.com/postreply.khtml?topic=36005&forum=19&post=3350010&....

"Forum Resident: i had a meeting with concert producers over lunch today and one of them told me that Charice might sing in the inauguration of Obama (because of Oprah) and she (Oprah) is also producing a kids' talent show in the States, where (prepare for this): Charice will be the host. last: she charges $30,000 per song in the States. But she still remains very, very grounded."

Speculation then began on internet forums and blogs, that the teen singer will sing at Obama's inauguration gala.

"Charice Fans...any truth to the rumors that Charice may be singing on President Obama's inauguration on Dec 15? This is due to Oprah's influence on the president elect. No announcement since security clearance is involved to who is performing. Update naman. Thanks," a forumer, "yna morin posted" at http://pinoyexchange.com/forums/showthread.php?p=31072800.

"Congrats charice! Guys, let's email Oprah (go to her website) and request her to let Charice sing “I Believe” (of the AI fame) in the Obama inauguration. Charice, now enjoying her career and popularity internationally, is now in the US to promote David Foster's newest album entitled "Hitman: David Foster & Friends." Just recently, she guested on America's popular morning show "Good Morning America."

In an exclusive interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com before Charice flew to the US, the singer said that she cannot believe that her track will be included in Foster's album together with songs from music icons like Kenny G., Michael Buble, Josh Groban, Brian McKnight, Katharine McPhee, Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion.

"Masaya po talaga ako at kasama po ako sa album ni Mr. David Foster. Nagulat nga po ako kasi ang lalaki ng mga pangalang kasama doon sa album. Tapos doon sa pinakita sa akin parang magkatabi po yata kami ng pangalan ni Celine Dion," Charice said.

Charice will spend Christmas in the US. She will fly back to Manila first week of December with her mother Raquel Pempengco.

Charice will stay in the US for almost three months to record her first international album.
