Claudine leaves Kapamilya network
MANILA - Actress Claudine Barretto has left her mother network, ABS-CBN, to move to GMA 7.
On Wednesday, Barretto inked a 2-year contract with the Kapuso network at GMA Network Center. Reports said her parents accompanied her when she signed the deal.
Present during the contract signing were the network’s top executives, reports added.
This development came more than a month after she signed a two-film contract with Viva Films.
Barretto, a contract star of ABS-CBN for almost 17 years, was considered to be one of the biggest stars of the Kapamilya network.
In October, Barretto denied that she was leaving ABS-CBN in spite of signing a contract with Viva Films. Originally, she was scheduled to do a television series with her older sister, Gretchen Barretto, on ABS-CBN, but the project was cancelled.
Her last television series with ABS-CBN was "Iisa Pa Lamang" in 2008. This year, she appeared on "May Bukas Pa" as a guest star.

I have been watching Claudine for as long as I can remember. It's a shame that she's leaving ABS but the girl wants to go back to acting and work. ABS is home to many talented but YOUNG performers and unfortunately it's the young ones that make money for the company. I wish her well in her new network and we hope she finds challenging acting roles once again.

can't blame her..sa dami ng talents sa KAPAMILYA network matatagalan pa bago sya makaroon ng project..but due to hard times, kailangan may mapagkakitaan si CB..magkano lang naman ang kinikita ni RS? taghirap, kaya kahit alam ni CB na di mag re-rate ang show nya sa KAPUSO, go na lang sya...now that she will be transferring there, pwede ba i-request nya sa GMA na lahat ng talents nila eh mag WORKSHOP muna? ang cheap ng mga acting nila huh!

I was looking forward to the TV show that she has to play in along with her sister... and I was really sorry to hear it was canceled. I read an article about what the TV show should have been like and that she will soon make her own site and blog on a Clickbooth affiliate network program.

This is really one shocking news in ABS-CBN. We all know that Claudine is one of the great actress on KAPAMILYA, its really heart breaking to see her in KAPUSO. This more shockinf than J Lo stage fall performance in AMAs. What could be Claudine's ground in leaving the Kapamilya network? Well, I just hope her decision is right.
