MANILA – Will Vic Sotto finally do a sitcom with ABS-CBN?

In an interview with entertainment reporters during the press conference for the movie “My Little Bossings,” host-actress Kris Aquino revealed the network's plans for the veteran comedian.

“Ang unang nagpasabi, I can admit that, na it’s Tita Cory Vidanes. Way back, 2002 yata 'yun, nag-guest si Vic sa ‘Game Ka Na Ba.’ One of the highest rated episodes nung time na 'yun. Nag-meet na sila ni Tita Cory para gumawa sana siya ng sitcom sa ABS,” said Aquino, whose son James "Bimby" Yap Jr. is making his movie debut in the Metro Manila Film Fest entry.

“That was the time din na re-negotiations with GMA. Tinapatan [ng GMA ang offer]. So hindi natuloy 'yung sa ABS kahit dalawa or tatlong meetings na. So nung nakiki-meeting ako kay Tita Cory para sa TV rights [ng movie], siya nagpaalala. Sabi niya, ‘Please remind Vic na 11 or 12 years ago, hinintay ko na ito. Baka naman ngayon puwede na,’” Aquino continued, recalling her conversation with Vidanes.

Sotto, however, refused to discuss the matter at the moment, according to Aquino.

“Sabi niya sa akin, ‘Puwede ba Kris tapusin muna natin ito tapos mamaya na lang iyan.’ So sabi ko, ‘But they are going to pay you a lot.’ Pero relaxed lang talaga siya. So sabi ko, ‘Okay, kung kailan ka na lang ready,’” she said.

While Sotto is a mainstay of “Eat Bulaga,” Aquino noted that Sotto does not have a contract with GMA-7 since the noontime variety program is produced by TAPE Inc.

Meanwhile, Aquino also admitted that she wants the team behind “My LIttle Bossing” to take charge of her son's career if ever the boy decides to pursue showbiz.

“Pinaalam ko din, sabi ko, ‘Tita Cory what if wala naman ako doon, pero si Bimb, ibigay ko na lang sa kanila.’ Kasi may ganun akong feeling na if he wants to continue, gusto ko itong grupong ito ang sumubaybay na sa paglaki niya,” she said.

Aquino said she was touched when Sotto sent her a message, lauding Yap’s performance in his debut movie.

“After viewing, sabi niya ‘Congratulate Bimb for me.’ Kasi pati 'yung pinagpe-pray daw niya na sanang mangyari, nalagpasan daw yun nung napanood niya. Nireplyan ko sabi ko, ‘I entrust whatever future career he’ll have with you. Kung gusto mong ituloy ito, at komportable siya, let’s do it,’” she said.

Aside from Aquino, Sotto and Yap, “My Little Bossings” also features child actress Ryzza Mae Dizon.
