TACLOBAN CITY- Actor-host Richard Gomez formally has filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) at the local office of Commission on Elections in Leyte on Monday.

"Goma" is running for the congressional seat of the 4th district of Leyte.

Gomez who running under the Liberal Party filed his COC at exactly 3:38 p.m., November 30 and was accompanied by wife Lucy Torres-Gomez.

His opponent would be Eufrocino "Dodong" Codilla a well-known politician in Ormoc City.

According to Gomez, he is not afraid if his opponent is an "Ormocanon." He said that long as his purpose is for the good of the people in the 4th district he will run as congressman.

" Hindi man ako taga-Ormoc eh 'yong Misis ko naman. At depende na lang iyan sa platform namin," said Gomez.
