Dr. Hayden Kho has been discharged from a hospital in Manila where he was confined due to intestinal flu.

MANILA, Philippines - Controversial cosmetic surgeon Hayden Kho Jr. on Tuesday night was discharged from a hospital where he was confined due to intestinal flu.

From Manila Doctors Hospital, Kho is now resting at his parents’ house.

Kho’s sudden hospitalization has triggered speculations that he tried to commit suicide for the second time. Early this year, the embattled doctor had admitted that he tried to end his life when his former girlfriend, Dr. Vicki Belo, broke up with him.

Kho’s parents vehemently denied the alleged second suicide attempt.

“We had remained silent and avoided the media for many months now in the hope of regaining some semblance of normalcy in our lives. This time, however, we find it necessary to clarify the malicious rumors involving our son. Hayden did not attempt to commit suicide,” his parents said in a statement sent to abs-cbnNEWS.com.

In an interview with “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon,” one of Kho's legal counsels, lawyer Irene Garcia, also shot down reports that Kho tried to commit suicide through drug overdose.

"He was cleared by the doctors, there were no drugs in his system... there was no alcohol substance there. He was not drunk. Hindi din totoo na when he was brought to the hospital he was unconscious," Garcia said.

Lawyer Lorna Kapunan, also one of Kho’s legal counsels, maintained that Kho has been traumatized because of the sex video scandal and this should be addressed.

"He has accepted that he has gone through a lot of trauma. And it's the trauma that should be addressed. So, hindi namin sinasabi na gumaling na si Hayden. Ang sinasabi lang namin na he is not suicidal. We think that with appropriate help, he will move on," Kapunan said.

Kapunan also called on the public to spare the Kho family from all the intrigues.

"Pasko na, we should forgive and forget. Let's leave it to the legal system. Until now the [National Bureau of Investigation] is still investigating who is responsible for the distributions, sale, and commercial exploitation of these sex videos,” she said.

“The Department of Justice has not made a finding and yan ang nakakalimutan ng lahat. And all the speculations, if whether he will commit suicide again because of the stress, all of these rumors about him, will go away if we finally find out who is the perpetrator of this dastardly act of pornography," Kapunan added.
