MANILA, Philippines -- Actress-host Kris Aquino has returned to her home after she was briefly confined at a hospital due to an allergy attack.
"Already home, forcing myself to eat oatmeal because need a full stomach before I drink the meds I had to bring with me," she said on her official Twitter account on Monday morning.
She also added that while she's already out of the hospital, she would need "bed rest."
Aquino had to be confined overnight at a hospital after she got an allergy attack during a photo shoot on Sunday afternoon.
"Confined now, immunity is weak. Had extreme allergic reaction in my shoot. Swollen eyes and couldn't breathe. Went to ER and now on IV line," Aquino said via Twitter on Sunday.
She said the blanket used during the shoot might have caused the allergy.
"This was my shoot early this afternoon. The blanket was lamb's wool. I started sneezing, eyes got so watery then swollen, then my tongue felt enlarged and my throat got constricted. I got scared and asked to be brought to the hospital," she narrated through Twitter.
"I don't think it was the wool, I think a lot of dust mites were present in the wool comforter that triggered the bad allergic attack," she added.
She said she had to be given steroids and antihistamine intravenously but still had a hard time sleeping because she missed her two sons.
She also had some bloodworks and discovered that she has a low blood count, which she attributed to lack of sleep.
Aquino is now busy promoting her Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Sisterakas" with Ai Ai delas Alas and Vice Ganda. She is also gearing up for a new primetime series next year with Robin Padilla and Anne Curtis.
The "KrisTV" host also shared that her brother President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III visited her at the hospital to check on her condition.
"Na-touch ako, my brother got worried and came to check on me. Bed rest first in the hospital for me til swelling subsides. Good night," she said.
Aside from the President, her sister Pinky also visited her at the hospital.
