James on Kris cutting ties: 'Hindi pwede iyon'
MANILA, Philippines -- Following Kris Aquino's outright denial that they are in good terms, James Yap is certain that his current "misunderstanding" with his ex-wife will soon pass.
While Aquino said she no longer has "desire for any closeness" with him, Yap said he won't allow any degree of estrangement from the Kapamilya host, pointing to their son Bimby as the reason.
"I'm sure, hindi naman kami for life na magka-away," Yap was quoted as saying by entertainment news site Philippine Entertainment Portal. "Kasi meron kaming anak, bali-baliktarin man, meron kaming Bimby."
"So, 'di puwede 'yon. Hopefully, maayos," Yap added.
Last week, Aquino denied that she is in good terms with her former husband. "I think we're better off having distance from each other," she said at the time.
The "Kris TV" host refused to divulge the reason behind their rift.
Yap and Aquino were married in civil rites in 2005. They separated in June 2010, and their marriage was annulled in January this year. Their only son, Bimby, turned 5 in April this year.
"Basta kung ano man yung mga misunderstanding na nangyari sa amin, ayaw ko nang mag-comment," Yap said. "Dahil isipin ko na lang na may anak kami."
"Ayoko naman na paglaki ni Bimby ay susumbatan kami na, 'Bakit kayo nag-away? Kailangan pang ipaalam sa public?'" Yap added. "Ayoko na darating 'yung time na ganun na pagsabihan kami ng anak namin."
