MANILA, Philippines –Sharon Cuneta’s “Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love” is the most expensive compared to other “Mano Po” series in terms of production cost, the film producer has admitted.

"This is the biggest. And may I say so, broke na ako," Lily Monteverde said during the press conference for "Mano Po 6," Regal Films’ official entry to 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival.

For one, the film’s finale scenes were shot in Beijing, China where 200 extras were tapped. Director Joel Lamangan also shared that the producer had to rent a cargo ship for one of its scenes.

"Umarkela si mother (Monteverde) ng buong barko na nagbibiyahe mula Quezon hanggang Visayas na ang karga ay mga copra at kung ano-ano. Nasa gitna kami ng barko at siyempre maraming kailangang camera boat. All of those ginastusan ni mother for one whole day," Lamangan said.

Reports said the budget for the movie ballooned to almost P70 million, including the talent fee of its lead star, Cuneta.

Monteverde declined to divulge Cuneta’s talent fee, but she said it is payable in one year.

Nina Jose, JC de Vera, Glaiza de Castro, Boots Anson Roa, Ryan Eigenmann and Zoren Legaspi are also part of “Mano Po 6.” Actress Kris Aquino also made a special appearance in the movie.
