MANILA, Philippines - Is actor Dennis Trillo ready to fall in love again?

In an interview during the press conference of his upcoming film "Mano Po 6: A Mother's Love" with Sharon Cuneta as its lead star, Trillo said he is still waiting it out. He added that this will be his first Christmas without a girlfriend.

"Medyo hindi pa (ako ready). Although first time kong magki-Christmas ng walang girlfriend. Pero sa tingin ko hindi naman lagi girlfriend ang nagpapasaya sa iyo," Trillo said.

(I'm sort of not ready to fall in love again. Although it's my first time to celebrate Christmas without a girlfriend. But I think a girlfriend is not the only one that will make you happy.)

Good Heart

Though he isn't ready for a love life yet, he hasn't seemed to shut out future prospects.

Trillo is romantically linked to actress Heart Evangelista, a co-star in the movie "Mano Po 6".

Asked what the real score is between him and Evangelista, Trillo said: "Sa interview niya sinasabi niya na hindi pa din talaga siya ready. So ang magagawa natin ay respetuhin ang desisyon niya. Kasi hindi naman natin puwedeng pilitin ang isang bagay kung wala pa talaga sa oras."

(In her interview, Heart said she also isn't ready. So what we can do now is respect her decision. Because we can't force something if it's not time for it yet.)

The actor, who described Evangelista as good person, admitted however that Evangelista is "really worth pursuing."

Priorities

In the same interview, Trillo said he has patched things up with ex-girlfriend Cristine Reyes. He described that chapter of his life as a "closed book."

"[It's a] closed book. Nag-usap na din kami. Naayos na namin lahat. Sa tingin ko, ganoon na lang muna ang mas mabuti. Magkaibigan na lang. At least ngayon ay mas maayos at magkaibigan kaming nag-usap," the actor said.

(We talked already. We fixed things. In my view, that's what's good for now. To be friends. At least, now, everything is okay because we talked as friends.)

Trillo said he has learned to prioritize important things in his life, including his career and his son Calix, whom he had with former girlfriend Carlene Aguilar.

"Naha-handle ko ngayon ng tama yong oras ko sa bawat isa sa mga dapat bigyang halaga talaga. Pero kung love life 'yong ano eh, ayaw kong pilitin dahil masaya ako ngayon. Baka masira o madiskaril ulit kapag pinilit kong magkaroon ng lovelife," he said.

(I can manage my time now for things that are important. But if it's my love life you're talking about, I don't want to force it because I'm happy now. It might wreck or derail things if I force myself to have a love life.)
