David Pomeranz says he's a big Pacquiao fan
MANILA, Philippines – International singer David Pomeranz, known for his hit single “Got To Believe In Magic,” admitted that he is one big Manny Pacquiao fan.
Speaking before reporters on Tuesday, Pomeranz said he’s been to the Philippines many times already but it was only during his most recent trip to Manila that he met the Filipino boxing icon.
“That was thrilling. We have never met before. We met Manny in the plane coming from Los Angeles. And I know he had sung one of my songs,” he said.
Pomeranz shared he really felt honored to be invited to sing at Pacquiao’s 34th birthday celebration in General Santos City.

The singer said he was amazed to see how many people truly love Pacquiao not only because of his status in life.
“Last night at his birthday party, I don’t know how many of you know what he does for his birthday. He has 3,000 friends and they are all friends. I spoke to him about that, I said, ‘These people dearly and truly love you not only because you’re a superstar and a champion. They love you.’ There were a lot of people there wishing him well and I can see why,” he said.
“It’s not because he’s a superstar. He spoke to everyone, he is very generous. He is a very sweet man, sincere, honest with his love. That’s why people love him back. He gave away money and prizes. He was laughing, charming and very fun,” he added.
Pomeranz sang a couple of songs during Pacquiao’s birthday.
The singer is currently in the country to do a series of shows. He will also be spending Christmas and New Year in the country.
