Truly, Christmas is the time of sharing and giving.

Actor Aga Muhlach showed the true meaning of gift-giving through fast-food chain Jollibee’s  “MaAga ang Pasko Grand Bash” at the Mega Tent in Ortigas in Pasig City.

On Thursday, Muhlach distributed more than 100,000 donated toys and books to almost 400 children who were victims of maltreatment and abuse.

The number of toys and books collected nationwide went up from at least 90,000 last year, according to the actor.

“Now, in Metro Manila alone, we are able to get 100,000, which is good sign kasi, despite the fact na sabi nga mas madami ang mahirap ang buhay ngayon, when it comes to spirit of Christmas the people are still there to give help and to celebrate,” he said.

Muhlach, who has been the endorser of Jollibee for almost 14 years now, was thrilled by the success of the gift-giving project. “I’m just happy to be part of this because at least yearly I got to do this and feel ‘yong Christmas talaga.”

He said the distribution of toys and books will also take place across the country not just in Metro Manila.

“Itong mga batang nasa orphanage, lahat ng mga batang may kakulangan sa buhay, at least ay nakakaramdam sila ng pagmamahal. And hopefully paglaki nila ay madadala nila ‘yan and so hindi sila magiging masamang tao,” Muhlach said.

Muhlach also extended his gratitude to singer Sarah Geronimo, another Jollibee endorser who is also part of the project.

“Ako po ay nagpapasalamat na mabigyan ng pagkakataon na mabigyan ng kaligayan ang mga bata ngayong pasko,” Geronimo said. “Priceless, alam niyo po ang sarap-sarap ng feeling na nakakagawa ka ng ganitong bagay, napapaligaya ang mga bata.”

Spending Xmas with family

Muhlach and Geronimo shared that they are spending their Christmas in the country.

“We will just be home and just be with the kids and I guess that’s Christmas. Like this is my big celebration already of Christmas to make people happy so okay na yon,” Muhlach said.

Muhlach is happily married to actress-host Charlene Gonzales. They are blessed with fraternal twins.

Muhlach, who just came from the United States where he spent his vacation for almost a month, is now gearing up for his two new films.

Geronimo, for her part, said she and her family is going to spend their Christmas in their province, Pampanga.
