Jolo speaks up on Jodi's 'pregnancy'
MANILA - Actor Jolo Revilla has denied rumors that his girlfriend, actress Jodi Sta. Maria, is pregnant.
"This is my first and final statement regarding Jodi's pregnancy issue. She is not pregnant and we are not yet married," Revilla said in a statement on his Twitter account.
"What we have right now is something special and we want to keep it private because I love her so much. Kung sakaling tutuo man yan, kayo po unang unang makakaalam. God bless," he added.
Early this week, actor Richard Yap clarified rumors that Sta. Maria, his leading lady in the ABS-CBN hit series "Be Careful With My Heart," is now pregnant.
Yap noted that some fans often confuse Sta. Maria with Maya, her character in the daytime series.
After the much-awaited wedding of Maya and Yap's character Sir Chief on the series, the former nanny seems to be infanticipating.
But Yap said this storyline doesn't extend to the real life of Sta. Maria, who is in a relationship with Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla.
"They associated it with her real life kasi noong nagka-dengue siya ay pinalabas din siya sa show," Yap said. "So they might be thinking that we are doing the same thing now, but sorry to say hindi pa."
Last October, Sta. Maria was hospitalized due to dengue. The show's writers included her illness in the story to explain her absence from the show.
