Kris Aquino finally plays her dream role
MANILA, Philippines - After portraying different characters in several box office films, actress-host Kris Aquino is set to play her dream role on television.
"I think ito na 'yon," Aquino said of her newest role, Roselle Manrique of the upcoming soap "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw", in an interview on the ABS-CBN late-night newscast "Bandila" early this week.
She did not give further details about her role in "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw", which also stars Robin Padilla and Anne Curtis.
Aquino, who usually does hosting and movie projects, admitted that being part of a teleserye is what she enjoys the most.
"Teleserye. Na-enjoy ko talaga. So please, abangan niyo, 'Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw,'" she said.
Asked for the reason behind her statement, Aquino replied: "Instant gratification kasi napapanood mo at nararamdaman mo na hindi ka na si Kris kung hindi si Roxanne (her character). Gustong gusto ko talaga."
Aquino currently has her own morning talk show on ABS-CBN, "Kris TV," which airs on weekdays. She is also part of the Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Sisterakas", where she stars alongside comedians Vice Ganda and Ai Ai delas Alas.
