Actor Jake Cuenca on Sunday admitted that a confrontation took place between him and former girlfriend Roxanne Guinoo in Guam where they had a show, along with other stars of variety show ASAP ’08, in October of this year.

Cuenca, however, said that contrary to reports the incident did not become physical.

He also said that he and Guinoo were able to iron things out on the same day that they talked in Guam.

“In Guam, we all went there to work... but siyempre the situation, medyo mainit, at the same time we [worked] things out,” Cuenca told “The Buzz.”

Cuenca was reacting to reports saying that the two had a shouting match in a hotel room during their stay in Guam.

Reports said they were arguing about unsettled issues between them after the break-up as well as the brewing romance between Cuenca and “Betty La Fea” star Bea Alonzo. Reports also said that the heated argument turned physical.

Photos of Guinoo with marks and scratches also surfaced.

Guinoo already denied the incident. As for her scratches, Guinoo explained that she got them during taping.

Cuenca also said that he and Guinoo are now in good terms.

“Roxanne will always be Roxanne in my life. Siyempre, marami kaming pinagdaanang saya [at] lungkot. I think alam ko naman may pagkukulang din [ako],” he said.

On Alonzo, meanwhile, Cuenca admitted the two of them went out on several dates but they eventually decided to become just friends. He said it was a mutual decision so that they could focus on their respective careers.

Guinoo, Cuenca to reunite in 'MMK'

Cuenca and Guinoo, meanwhile, are set to be reunited for a “Maalaala Mo Kaya” (MMK) episode. Cuenca, who is set to celebrate his birthday on Tuesday, made this announcement Sunday.

“I’m really thankful na ginawa namin ‘yon. She’s really excited to do it,” he said.

He added: “Dahil sa MMK, nakapag-usap kami ng matagal. Sa totoo lang masaya ako kasi nabalik ang tambalan namin, which I cherish so much. Without the [love] team, I don’t think I’ll be where I am today.”

Cuenca said that the two of them finally had a closure after their long talk during the MMK taping.

“Kahit papaano, at ease na kaming dalawa,” he said.
