MANILA - Robin Padilla's wife and number one fan, TV host Mariel Rodriguez, called the action star's entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) "10,000 Hours" as his best movie to date.

Speaking with reporters after the MMFF named the film Best Picture at the awards night held Friday, Rodriguez congratulated her husband and explained that ticket sales do not necessarily reflect the quality of a film.

"He really deserves this award," she said, referring to Padilla's Best Actor award. "This is the best Robin Padilla movie to date. This is the best Joyce Bernal (director) movie to date. Kita niyo naman, Best Picture, Best Actor, it's really the best."

"10,000 Hours" won a total of 14 trophies across categories.

Referring to the lackluster box-office performance of the film, Rodriguez said, "Hindi ko masyadong tintingan ang figures kasi laging sinasabi sa akin ni Robin, ang importante, we made a good film. That's what matters. And dito naman nakikita na it's a really good film. Na-prove na siya."

The former "Pinoy Big Brother" host also confirmed that Padilla, along with other members of his family, will push through with the action flick "Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina, at mga Anak."

"Excited kami dahil after this film, mayroon pang susunod na Robin Padilla film. Ito 'yung 'Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at ng mga Anak," she said.

The film was among the submissions that failed to earn a slot as an official entry to the 39th MMFF. It is reportedly produced by Robin's own brother, Rommel, and will also star his nephew, teen heartthrob Daniel Padilla.

"Sana pagkatapos nila panuorin 'yung '10,000 Hours,' magtipid sila na kaunti, mag-ipon sila, para mayroon pa silang budget para sa susunod na Robin Padilla film with Daniel," she said.

On rumors surrounding her return to television after the end of the noontime show "Wowowillie," which she co-hosted, Rodriguez hinted that she might be returning soon but not as a host for the upcoming season of "Pinoy Big Brother."

"Siguro hindi kay Kuya," she said.

"Kay ate," she quipped. "We'll see."
