Ai-Ai still box office comedy queen

Actress Ai-Ai delas Alas is now in cloud nine as "Ang Tanging Ina Niyong Lahat (ATINL)" continues to lead the 34th Metro Manila Film Festival's box office returns.

In a text message sent by Mr. Ric Camaligan, president of the National Cinema Association of the Phillippines, confirmed that Star Cinema's ATINL got the highest total gross sales amounting to P57 million as of 2:02 p.m., December 28.

In her live interview with weekly entertainment "The Buzz," delas Alas extended her appreciation to all the moviegoers.

"Thank you po, thank you sa lahat, thank you sa Diyos," delas Alas said.

"Ayaw ko pong umiyak pero hindi ko alam kung paano ko pasasalamatan ang lahat ng tao sa Pilipinas, sa Metro Manila na talagang pumipila para sa Tanging Ina, lalo na po sa Visayas region, sa Cebu, sa  Iloilo, lahat ng taga-Visayas, sa Mindanao, sa lahat po," delas Alas said as she broke into tears.

Delas Alas' film depicts the  story of a mother with her 12 children who runs for public office and eventually wins the presidency.

The actress also congratulated other Kapamilya stars who won in MMFF, including Anne Curtis in the film “Baler,” and Christopher de Leon in the movie “Magkaibigan.”

"And congratulations sa lahat ng nanalo sa MMFF, at sa Kapamilya po kay Anne, kay Christopher de Leon at sa lahat ng nanalo," she said.

Before the interview ended, the ace comedienne also thanked everyone who helped her in promoting the said movie, especially to the members of entertainment media.
