Back-to-back 'Voice PH' shows in 2014
Auditions for Season 2 announced
MANILA -- Two local editions of the hit reality talent search "The Voice" will air on ABS-CBN in 2014, following the highly successful debut season of the international series in the Philippines.
"The Voice of the Philippines" will start its search for its second season in Visayas on January 12, according to a televised announcement on ABS-CBN.
Auditions for hopefuls aged 16 and above will also be held on January 19 in Mindano, January 26 in Metro Manila, and February 2 in other parts of Luzon.
The earlier announced "The Voice Kids," which takes on the same format with contestants aged 8 to 14 years old, is also set to have more audition dates following its kick-off in Cebu in November.
Young hopefuls can audition on January 11 in Visayas, January 18 in Mindanao, January 25 in Metro Manila, and February 1 in other parts of Luzon.
Venues for the auditions have yet to be announced.
The upcoming back-to-back editions of "The Voice" in the Philippines follows the ratings success of the its first season, which concluded in September with Mitoy Yonting as the title winner.
Coach Sarah Geronimo is slated to return for another season, but it is unclear whether she will be mentoring contestants on "Kids" or the second season, or both.
While the other coaches from the first season -- Lea Salonga, Bamboo Manalac, and Allan "apl.de.ap" Pineda -- have expressed interest in returning for the second season, no official announcement has been made of their involvement.
