Bicolano tops civil service exams; 13,412 pass

MANILA, Philippines - A total of 13,412 examinees passed the 2012 national Career Service Examinations held by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), the agency said Friday.

The CSC said 11,449 passed the professional level while 1,963 passed the sub-professional level exams.

A total of 113,168 people took the exams held October 21, 2012, with a passing mark of 11.85%.

Mark Anthony B. Pelaez, a resident of the Bicol Region, topped the professional level exam with a rating of 87.85.

The others in the top 10 are :

Justin Alick M. Cordova (Western Visayas), 87.39;
Ma. Cristina D. Pornillos (NCR), 87.29;
Grace Jude B. Adarne (Northern Mindanao), 87.02;

Venice Marie B. Hulleza (Western Visayas), 86.90;
Kar Lyle A. Constantino (NCR), 86.85;
Ed Mari Cedric C. Cornejo (Bicol), 86.79;

Angelica Anne C. Eligado (NCR), 86.65;
Oliver Gerard M. Gelera (Eastern Visayas), 86.63; and,
Ian Derrick W. Almanzor (NCR), 86.56.

The professional level passers are eligible for appointment to both first-level and second-level government positions not covered by the Bar, board exams, and special laws.

Meanwhile, Gerardo R. Biyo from the National Capital Region led the sub-professional level with 90.65 rating.

The others in the top 10 are:

Alma L. Pabilane (NCR), 89.63;
Arvin E. Sevilla (SOCCSKSARGEN), 89.25;
Hazel Ann P. Etiong (Zamboanga Peninsula), 89.02;
Miraquel G. De Jesus (NCR), 88.94;
Arnie James C. Mayo (Region IV-A CALABARZON), 88.82; Bjorn Ronwald L. Reyes (CAR), 88.72;

Clarence G. Dominguez (NCR), 88.71;
Mary Andrielle C. Santos (NCR), 88.59; and, Justin Lawrence J. Tembrevilla (NCR), 88.12.

Sub-professional level passers are eligibile for first level government positions that include clerical, trades, crafts, and custodial service positions.

The NCR had the highest passing rate at 19.20 percent, followed by the Central Visayas with 15.10 percent.

Those who failed the exams may also get the results at the website.

Successful examinees should coordinate with regional offices of the CSC on the requirements and procedures in claiming their certificates of eligibility.

The next career service examinations paper-and-pencil test will be held on April 14, 2013.

Applications may be filed at any CSC Regional or Field Office until February 28, 2013.
