RE: “Showtime” suspension

Well, ABS-CBN has responsibility over the program. I know from the start, that this show would not last because of Vice Ganda who is a mainstay among the judges. It's not only Osang that should be cautious. Even Vice Ganda's comments are outrageous because she/he should know that his audience is not the usual comedy bar people.
He's ridiculing contestants with their looks and physical features. More so he/she is very malandi flirting everytime she/ makes comments.
To the management of showtime, you deserve what you get. I pity Bobet Vidanes. He's a genius. Why did he fail this time?

In my point of view Showtime shouldn't be suspended kasi unang una di naman nila hawak ang pag-iisip ng bawat judges di ba? and like what others says meron tayong freedom of speech kaya lang di yon nagamit ni Osang ng tama. We have to give MTRCB a credit for giving the right action and giving our beloved teachers the pride, but MTRCB supposed to do consideration to those people who got involve in this issue.
ABS-CBN has nothing to do with what Osang did, in fact we should be mad if ABS-CBN did not do anything on what Osang did di ba? Right after that episode ABS-CBN did the necessary action they removed Osang right away from the show.
Kasi in the first place Osang should thank ABS-CBN for giving her a chance to be seen on TV and be one of the judges and have an opportunity to see and to give contribute to all talented Filipino people. It just that Osang did not appreciate it and the opportunity that has been given to her.
So sana ibalik na ang Showtime kasi para sa aming malayo sa family this is the show that make us happy and proud. Showtime and Wowowee are the best shows ever because they've been giving all our co-Filipino poeple a hope and a chance to be themselves and to bring out the best in them.
And I would like also to give the highest credit to Vice Ganda kasi sobrang ang tapang niya di siya nagdalawang isip na kontrahin ang mga pahayag ni Osang. Vice saludo ako sa'yo.

As a TFC subscriber, I strongly disaggree with the MTRCB's action. It's her personal opinion.

Every one is entittled to thier own opinion like Ms. Rossana Roces.

She’s entitled to her own opinion. Tama naman sinabi niya at walang mali doon. Teachers need to understand na Osang is just giving an opinion na para sa kanya e tama.

It's just plain and simple common sense, when you're doing a decent show or for family show, employ a decent people to be in that show. Osang doesn't fit in that show! C’mon guys. Not all Filipinos want her. Salamat.

Osang can probably and competently judge a variety contest but certainly she can not judge teachers. What’s patently wrong in what she said was that she attacked on a global medium not only her own teachers but the noblest profession of teaching.
If Ms. Roces went to school (and I assume she did), she should have narrated her own experience with teachers who shut her mouth and who spoon fed her with repetitious lectures. The schools where the sexy actress attended must be fuming mad because she just questioned the education she learned from them. But she was talking of teachers in general. Now that’s not true at all.
I have been a teacher for more than forty years, long enough to safely say that I do tell my students that learning is not limited to books, board work, and lectures, adding that more learning continues outside the classroom. I tell my student that teachers who can’t admit mistakes and who discourage contrary opinions from students are robots; but followed this up with the advice that teachers should not be compared like machines because each one has his own style and approach in teaching, not to mention individual personalities.
I advise them to adjust to the different approaches, styles, and personalities of their teachers. The more different their teachers are, the better for them when they get to the real world. Variety is the spice of life, goes the maxim. For if teachers had identical personalities, styles, and attitudes, learning would have been a bore.
The MTRCB can evict a TV talent for a blatant moral infraction, but it went beyond its power to suspend an otherwise wholesome and youth-creativity-oriented Showtime. First, Ms. Roces had already apologized for the breach and the network already evicted her. So what’s the suspension for? if not a piggy-back riding ploy of the Ms. Laguardia and her censors.
Without the most popular Wowowee and Showtime, the public would not even know that Ms. Consoliza Laguardia exists. The MTRCB has only its Victorian eyes on issues of social morality like obscenity or anything that is “offensive to good taste”. It ruled that the Wowowee dancers were wearing very skimpy wardrobes, short of suggesting that dancers should dance in jeans and boots to hide their legs and skin worlwide.
I wonder if the lady takes her showers with clothes on. Question: what qualifies a censor to see “obscenity” that disqualifies his public counterpart who may even be smarter, more mature and intelligent than the censor is? As an irate viewer once said “who the hell is going to dictate to a senior citizen grandfather like me what to see and what not to see?” In this age of Youtube and pirated CDs, censors should know that there is nothing left to hide from worldly eyes. Censorship is an outdated much ado about nothing.
With an MTRCB under Ms. Laguardia, there has been a proliferation of boring, mediocre, and mentally debilitating telenovelas, yet there is no wonder our Showbiz and film industries are still in the gutter.

Pulitika lang yan. MTRCB has an ax to grind against Osang.
It was just a plain innocent question, maybe if the teachers would answer back and give the right questions eh di marami pa ang naka-alam kung bakit ganun nga ang pangalan ni Jose Rizal. That's plain and simple crab mentality, masama yan para sa ikauunlad ng ating bayan, let's think outside the box.
