Families, you love them, and then, hate them. If Gibo is really that smart bordering on genius, how come he cannot find ways and means to pacify his disgruntled family? If Danding's family is hurting, feeling betrayed and maligned, couldn't Gibo soothe them with kind words that do not hurt them?
