Mary Jean Lacaba’s release at the hands of the Abu Sayyaf bandits last night was a latest development in the hostage taking and rescue operation of the Philippine government.

Filipinos and non-Filipinos who are following the hostage taking are hoping a Swiss and an Italian captive will follow soon.

Government's patience in rescue operation yielded good results when it finally got back one of the hostages held captive by the Abu Sayyaf for exactly 77 days.

Military's latest steps to apprehend every supporters of the Abu Sayyaf was a success that later on forced the bandits to give up the female hostage.

This is what I really want to happen. The Philippine government should never succumb to pressures by an enemy of the nation.

So to our military, Gov. Tan and ICRC Chairman and Sen. Dick Gordon.
