H1N1 Scare in the Call Center Industry

I am a call center employee doing the graveyard shift. It is observed by several of my colleagues and myself that with the increasing number of people affected by the dreaded virus, there are no real preventive measures intended for employees like us.
Call centers are a home to a variety of visitors of different nationalities, coming from all over the globe as our clients. We interact with them face to face, and we are unsure how safe it is to do that. We'd also like to know if the Department of Health has any back up plansfor us in relation to H1N1. Just one positive case in the production floor may mean thousands of infected people all at once and suspension of work and ceasing of business operations.
May we suggest that the government provide us call center employees with further medical benefits such as Influenza & Pneumonia vaccinations for free. If we all fell victims to the H1N1 virus, operations will be put to a halt and clients would be forced to conduct business elsewhere. This would greatly affect our struggling economy.
Thank you and we look forward to your usual speedy response on this matter.

Why Should You be Scared?
"May we suggest that the government provide us call center employees with further medical benefits such as Influenza & Pneumonia vaccinations for free." by Raquel V. Villamiel - Don't you think you are being biased? You think this will be a very good decision? Will this act not give rise to other people thinking that they are being discriminated? We are all susceptible to this virus, just because that you are in the workforce of our country doesn't mean that you should be treated differently. We are all at threat of this virus, so we must take to ourselves to enforce preacuotinary measures. Why should you be afraid of something that you can take head on right? We only have to make sure that our body can withstand the virus. Just keep our bodies in good health and we should not be in any trouble. I am not saying that what you said is bad in any way, it is just, that it is best to think for the betterment of all of us, and not only for our own selves.
H1N1 Scare in the Call Center Industry
I agree 100% to you. As an employee in a call center myself we are very susceptible to this disease since we are meeting clients from parts of the world. Even if only one of us gets infected, the contamination of the air conditioning system can spread the virus fast and a center may close down for a few days which may result to clients pulling out. Our industry is facing a great disaster if this happens.
